Privacy Policy
The Creator Vocabulary (“TCV”, “we”, “us”). Effective July 22, 2026.
This policy explains what information The Creator Vocabulary collects, why, and the choices you have. We built TCV to be a reference tool — not an advertising product. We do not sell your data, we do not use third‑party advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). We never store your password in plain text.
- Content you create. Terms you save, collections you create, and personal notes you attach to terms, so we can sync them to your account across your devices.
- Subscription status. TCV Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple, not TCV, handles your payment details — we never see or store your card information. Through our subscription provider (RevenueCat) we receive and store your entitlement status (whether Pro is active, the plan type, and renewal/expiration dates) linked to your account so we can unlock Pro features.
- Anonymous product analytics. To understand how the app is used and improve it, we record basic, non‑advertising events such as app opens, searches performed (including search terms, so we can find gaps in our dictionary), terms viewed, saves, collections created, category usage, paywall views, and successful upgrades. These events are associated with a randomly generated device identifier and, if you are signed in, your account id — not with your name, contacts, precise location, or any advertising identifier.
- Technical data. Like any internet service, our servers transiently process information such as your IP address and app version to deliver and secure the service.
What we do NOT collect
- No advertising identifiers and no third‑party ad SDKs.
- No precise or background location.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- No cross‑app or cross‑site tracking. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
How we use information
- To provide the app: authenticate you, and sync your saved terms, collections, and notes.
- To manage TCV Pro subscriptions and unlock Pro features.
- To improve TCV using aggregate analytics (e.g. which terms are searched most, and which searches return nothing so we can add missing terminology).
- To keep the service secure and respond to support requests.
Service providers
We share the minimum necessary data with providers that operate the app on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and hosting.
- Apple — App Store payments and in‑app purchases.
- RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management.
These providers process data under their own privacy terms and only to provide their services to us.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Account → Delete Account inside the app. Deleting your account removes your profile, saved terms, collections, notes, and entitlement records. Some anonymized analytics events that are not tied to your identity may be retained in aggregate. If you need help deleting your account, see our Support page.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that restrict each user’s content to their own account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
TCV is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
You can access and update your account information in the app, and you can delete your account and associated data at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data; contact us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
